So, for the past few days ive seen this parking lot light smashed, and lieing on the ground at an intersection close to my house. today the light was red so i stopped and leaned way out the passenger side door and grabed the thing.
and here it is.
as you can see it must have come down off the top of a pole or some thing.its waaaay smashed.
heres the reflector portion. pretty cool. about 6x10" id say.
heres a shot of the bulb. not a fingerprint on this thing. look how badly bent the tube is?
its even blackened... i wonder if it came down while on. this thing cant be good can it?
heres a shot of the inside. everything is trashed and loose. it sounds like a pack of tic-tacs
you can see the metal core portion of the ballast broke loose from the steel mounts.
i gutted the metal housing. heres a shot of the hole from the inside
its a quad tap ballast. so i wired it to 120v took all of 10 minutes. does this count as a ground?
