Yes thats probably what it is thanks for the IDI don't think it's a butternut. Looks like Tromba d'Albenga--a squash from Italy. I grow them every year--except for this year (peppers only).
She looks lovely(I am asuming your JB is a she) we used to have big dogs(Fila Brazileiro)her striped coat pattern reminds me of them.Once it fills in and grows up................
