seeds Germination fail..

This is the second year I have tried to germinate Barrackpore in dirt and failed this was my last 5 seeds it's been 3 weeks, Do you think I can dig them out of the soil and at least try and save one or 2 by putting them in a zip lock bag or would it be a lost cause?

It's worth a shot, but likely a lost cause. The seeds will grow mold and rot if in the soil and wet that long. Perhaps the batch of seeds was bad.

I have had luck with letting it dry out and trying again.  I just had seeds sprout from last year that were dried in their medium and rewet with the new seed starts this year.

This does work! Sometimes the seed is just waiting for a break in the wet weather and, BAM!

Some superhots can take up to a month to germinate.... just sayin'

I do all my germination directly in soil. Most varieties come up in 7-14 days, but brown moruga took almost a full month. We have some barrackpore seeds, maybe I will try to germ a few and see how it goes.. my advice, be patient. If the seeds are viable they will come up when they are ready.
