Golden Cayenne??

2nd plant in my garden I am doubting, this is supposed to be a golden cayenne. Looks ginormous for a cayenne to me, have a normal cayenne in my hand for reference.

prolly not golden cayenne, golden cayenne is more like the smaller one in size, however it has not ripened yet

it my be next to impossible to tell what species it is seeing there are so many that look just like that

I dunno....I bought a Golden Cayenne plant from Lowe's this year, and that pod look about the same as mine.

It could be a Cow Horn......The Golden Cayenne has a lighter green unripe color. I have both growing and there is a considerable difference

Looks like a cowhorn.

That makes sense, golden cayenne's where right next to the cowhorn's. They could have gotten mixed somewhere along the way.

yeah your right they are lighter green too, i remember them being smaller too

the larger species could be any number of other large yellow cayenne type

They have started to turn, they are coming out brown.Not sure what they are but they are 10X hotter than any cayenne I have ever had
