Grade of Vermiculite

Just a quick question guys, what's the best grade of vermiculite to get. Had some last year but don't remember what grade. Fine medium or bulk?

Cheers

I'd say it depends on the maturity of your plants. For seed starting/seedlings, you probably want fine grade as it will allow the tender roots to move around easier. For older, more established plants, the coarser the better as it will give more porosity to the soil and gets more air to the roots.

Coarse grade vermiculite will be better for aeration, while the finer grades will hold loads of water... a medium grade verm will do a little of both.
