media Green Slime Growing On Jiffy Pellets

Just wondering if anybody has encountered this before with Jiffy Pellets? I have this stuff growing on a couple of them, any thoughts?

Yes.  I still had germination fine.  H202 wouldn't hurt but it will still be present, just not spreading..  I'm guessing it's some sort of mold...didn't seem to harm the plants any for whatever reason.  Next time I use them I'm baking the things in the oven first or something, it just looks unsightly

I have that on a lot of my pots outside I was thinking it was moss, but the seeds grew from it for me as well. just when you transplant the plant try not to take the green slim with you.

I've had the white fuzz mold but not this stuff before. It almost looks like algae.

I have one (out of 50+) that is sporting some slick 'wet' looking green mold or fungus or something on it - looks just like what you posted.  Hasn't really spread or harmed the seedlings though, unlike a white-ish mold I saw a year back that killed seedlings.  Glad to know I'm not the only one.

I've been using these jiffy pellets for a few years now, probably 500+ and never saw this before. If it is algea it should be harmless. The only difference is I am now using the "self watering" trays for the first time and I think it's keeping the moisture level a little too high. I felt it and it is slick like algae too.
