Especially if you turn them seed side facing down when dehydrating.i notice cutting the peppers in half i usually lose most of the seeds, before and during drying.
Very true, hence the reason my bottom tray is cut side up. I also have many other tricks but I am the powder guy...keep in mind with open side down they can drip....capsaicin
Nice way to go, I'll have to try this way next time. I also prefer to remove the seeds as Greg already stated.Very true, hence the reason my bottom tray is cut side up. I also have many other tricks but I am the powder guy...
Nothing truer has been spoken! I had 15 trays dehydrating and the pain factor was off the scale, same could be said for the 7+ pounds I recently smoked. I often joke about having my powders in carry-on luggage.Man OhioHeat you are a maniac.
I did that once to some Thai/Vietnam hot peppers and cried blind with burning face for a half an hour.
Never again. I will put the buggers outside on a heater and then outside in a grinder from now on----I know a guy that boils peppers on the stove and they leave the house when they do it----this stuff is EVIL---no question.
Well I didn't mention that I wear the heavy playtex gloves and a cheapy facemask to keep the dust out but then there's nothing like crushing/sifting my lil friends while my eyes are watering some and snot running out of my nose ... It's those little things that makes life bearable. And having a cold Sam Adams or 2 afterwards helps also.Man OhioHeat you are a maniac.

Edit---Notice the clothing and goggles and mask and face covering on Joyner's Pic----there is a reason for that; ant it aint cause it is cold outside!!!!!
Cool, must be a stock item from China *rolleyes* BTW since we're on the topic, while a coffee grinder is fine for small batches and home use. How do you grind yours for commercial use?^^ I too have the same one...
I grind to order.Cool, must be a stock item from China *rolleyes* BTW since we're on the topic, while a coffee grinder is fine for small batches and home use. How do you grind yours for commercial use?
Edit: would it be like one of these?
That's fine but I'm sure you still use good gear as the cheap coffee grinder I use for personal consumption wouldn't cut it and I'm sure I wouldn'tI grind to order.
