contest Growdown Throwdown 2021 XL Antep Aci Cross

Well, time to get this show on the road. I took the advice of a couple of fellow "growdowners" and chose the plant on the right, it had smaller pods than the other but more of them. I really wanted to use the "middle" one but just couldn't get a grasp on it. Anyway, I bought a "dirt bag" for ten bucks from the local landscape place.

I got a grommet kit from Harbor Freight and put some drain holes in it.

Added a little water when it was half full of dirt.

Here's the plant and the full dirt bag.

I pulled all the peppers except one small one so the plant can work on roots first.

The plant is planted!

My first official weigh in: 13 pods and 832 grams.

And now, it's mostly up to nature.

So cool!  I can't wait to see the final root ball on that bad boy.  With that setup, I am looking forward to you destroying all of us this season.  That is great!

Don't forget, "The Guru" has a secret in store for this year. Also, I think a few are doing theirs in raised beds, I've seen huge plants grow in a fertile raised bed.

Wow SB, that bag is huge! How many gallons would you say that is?

You came last using a hydro plant?

Yep. My hydro plants took a beating last year and didn't produce very well. Partly aphid infestation and partly due to being unable to get the nute mix right. I grew a large plant but only got a few pods before it succumbed to the aphids/nute issue. 2nd bucket from the left:

Oh man, I can see they were healthy and big a month before they met their doom. Yeah I do alot of kratky and with my season I need to spray with sulphur and pyrethrin for prevention otherwise my plants will also get hit hard. Sorry to hear that Siv. Better luck this season!!

When I clicked the link I thought for sure I was going to be watching porno because it said it was age restricted!
Fixed it! Also opened up the comments section. I have quite the number of haters after the pickles and batman saga...they make sure and hit me anyway they can  I say keep the propagation coming!

It's one cubic yard(3 ft X 3 ft X 3 ft). However many gallons that is!
202 Gallons

Which means you're using way more capacity than I am this year, and that's impressive as I always go ridiculous. This year, playing it conservatively, and only using around 32 gallons of soil for this plant.
