Growing chillies from a processed food pack

Can't believe it worked. I had some plants growing at work near the office window. My clown boss thought it would be funny to throw some dehydrated chillies in my pots....To my surprise some seeds fell out onto the dirt and germinated.

So now I'm going to try this properly by pulling the seeds out of the dried pods and planting them. So here are the first steps.

Get only the genuine quality brand chilli's from your Asian Supermarket. Note the Genuine logo:-

The ready to eat pods can be opened to remove the seeds.

I'll post more picks when the seeds start to sprout.

Well, I have some follow up on this project. My 4year old wanted to grow something, so I gave him some of the seeds out of these store bought dehydrated chilli's obtained from the spice section. We sowed them in a terrace planter and waited.

And violas! Up they're coming.
