Hab Sauce on Ice Cream

I made Hab and Orange hot sauce a little while back (my first ever hot sauce) and I really liked it. Well, I had read where some of you had used similar sauces on ice cream. I kinda thought yall were nuts. I was wrong. I just had some on my ice cream and now thats my favorite desert of all time with the possible exception of cheese cake. Cheese cake and hot suace?

Anyway, I really enjoyed it and I wanted to thank yall for suggesting it.

if you liked that you'll love this. It's amazing.

2 habaneros diced very fine
4 Tbs butter non salted
1/4 cup brown sugar 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup milk or cream
1/2 cup fresh sliced strawberries
melt butter over low heat, add diced habs (no seeds)
cook and mash the habs for 3-5 minutes, add brown sugar stir constantly until melted, add vanilla and cream
cook stirring constantly until caramel like consistancy.
add strawberries and serve over vanilla or chocolate ice cream.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to try it. And, thanks Chililover for the recipe.
A few years ago my young grandson and I went to the Chili Festival in Bowers, PA. Of course, all the food advertised as having something 'hot' in it. At the time, my grandson was not into hot/spicy things so I decided to get him a bowl of chocolate ice cream. Unfotunately, they didn't warn me that there was tiny chunks of hot peppers in the ice cream! The good news now is that he and his family spent a few years in New Mexico, and when they returned to eastern PA, most of the family likes 'hot stuff'

Mmm they all sound nice.

Everyone thinks I'm crazy when I suggest this recipe and no one will try it not even my partner (loves chilli too). I think it is the bomb.

Simply sprinkle Bhut powder onto vanilla Ice cream and drizzle with honey. If you wait a minute or so the honey goes nice and chewy too. Let me know what you guys think.

Funny that you brought honey up, I just built my first (Top Bar Design) bee hive. I painted it yesterday. I intend to populate it in March. My plans are to have 5 hives going at once by next year.

Sounds good! I'm supposed to be on a diet, and ice cream and honey aren't exactly diet items :) 'supposed to be on a diet' is much different than 'am on a diet', so I guess it's OK. Besides the Bhut will burn off some of those calories. I really should get the vanilla ice cream to try it.

No problem, You'd be surprised how close the cold and hot sensations are. First bite you get the cold then the hot and it's pretty similar. Like those muscle creams, its a really neat how close they are.

Well Honey is a natural sugar and has good healing properties etc to it, ice cream is a good source of dairy and Bhut will burn off those extra calories like you said:)
So all in all it is a very healthy meal!

Ice cream is a perfectly good part of a well rounded diet. The key is PORTION CONTROL.

"We practice the virtue of moderation in all things, including moderation of virtue" (the motto of the Shangri-La Monastery) from Lost Horizons

I picked up some of the Chilli Factory's Dragon Blood the other day and I been meaning to give it a burl over some ice cream. The only thing is now, it would be great if I had some ice cream seeing as I'm all inspired! I'm thinking a trip to the late night corner store may be in order...

I like this recommended usage for the stuff too:
Create your own fresh hot cordial to crush that hard-earned thirst
