Habanero???

Can a Habanero take the shape of a Trinidad Sorpion? i recently bought some peppers at the local grocery store and a few of them had a distinct shape im not used to seeing on a habanero. im a little new on the identification so any help would be awesome.

Kind of looked like this but Orange and a bit smoother, this is the basic shape they were. i already used them and they seemed a bit hotter than the rest.

No i went back and went through all they had. none with the unusual shape. i will get a pic if i run across another.

There are some rippled habs but generally not to that extent, it was probably mislabeled.

I have seen a couple of bhuts that developed the typical TS stinger, it happens when the flower ring doesn't break soon enough. It is exceedingly rare in my plants, maybe 1 in 10000. I would imagine the same thing would be possible in orange habs or any other variety.

Pod in the pic looks C. chinense but the fat stem looks kind of C. annuum. Maybe an intra-species cross
