Heefys 2016 Grow

It's that time of year again. I started a few weeks back and am more than happy with the progress so far. I have only planted pubescens so far, as I am hoping for a very long season from them.

Probably sow some Chinense in a week or so and the Baccatums in February.

Most have looped, with good germination rates. I have started to pot on now.

I am aiming to grow out as many different pubescens as possible, so if you have any info on rare ones, please post or pm me. Cheers.

Not too much to update on this week. The following have looped in the new grow area.

Aji Pulsar (not sure how that crept in)
Carboruga
MA Florida Pred
MOA SB Yellow
Pimenta Puma

Here are half of the Rocotos in the Vitopod.

Finally I think the Fidalga is about to change colour. One is a light brown in the top left of the picture. I'm hoping for a mix of purple and orange.

I fancied a quick pic update, to cheer myself up. It's cold and raining here in normally sunny Lincs, UK. A few more seedlings needed potting on.

After a successful trial using the Autopot, Aquavalve I have opened the valve on the second grow tray. That has now flooded with nutrient filled water and a load more plants have been moved to the tray. This is what the top shelf of the grow shelves looks like.

My Chinense are germinating very well. Not sure what has changed this year, but I have the best germination rates, I have ever had. I have temps lower. Maybe that's it?
 
Can you post a list of all the pubescens you're growing? Looks like you got quite a few.
 
What's the average heat level of most pubescens?

im growing every single Pubescens that I can lay my hands on. The more the merrier. I haven't finished with the list yet and will post soon.
 
Phenominal growth Heefy bet you will be glad when spring comes and you can get them all out into the greenhouse ... there again this season you have so many plants you may need another greenhouse

Thanks mate. I have tested the ground with the mention of a second/auxiliary growing area. I am not the sharpest tool, but think it's on the horizon.

I am having trouble working out what's going to go where at my new place. It has an East facing garden, with open views.

Basically the shed or greenhouses can go on the extreme left or right, but not block the view. I'm not sure what's best where.

I'm really looking forward to the spring and getting the plants out of the cramped surroundings.

That's some of the Rocoto and Chinense, reaching the top of the second height extention to the Vitopod.

That's a rogue Basil plant in there too.

Some of my crosses are too big for the grow shelf. They had grown above the LED lights! They are going to be tall plants in the summer.

Then there was this unassuming plant, growing in the shed. Peru Cusco.

Thanks mate. It's getting bigger too.

I have gone a bit mad and after hours pondering the grow have just sown whatever I fancied, regardless of space etc,.

The first is a mixed bag of mainly Baccatums, and wilds. I'm aware of the not so deliberate mistake on CAP 802. It's not a baccatum, it's a Frutescens. I ran out of dymo tape. CAP 215 is a Microcarpum, which is related to wild annuum. I'm not so sure and have seen it listed as Baccatum.

Oh and thats actually a couple of Pineapple seeds planted in there too. Not a chilli, an actual Pineapple!

Very very nice! You have a mini-maxi green capsicum jungle! I love that color! Of course I love pods colors too!
What is the white tube suspending on the rear wall of your LightBox?

Ah that's a small tube heater as the box is outside in an unheated greenhouse in the UK.

It's thermostatically controlled, so only kicks in from time to time, overnight. 160watts. Does the job nicely. The trays are heated and adjustable so sit at 21 degrees C.
