heirloom butternut pumpkins

Just cut our first heirloom butternut pumpkin. More gnarly than the supermarkets, but twice as big!

Nice!!
Been trying to find heirloom Pumpkins like they used to be decades ago, the ones now they have the flesh like spaghetti squash :(
We are lucky here to have access to a bunch of heirloom varieties through diggers seeds in Melbourne. They have a great online store too, definitely worth checking out

A friend has grown Triamble, another delicious squash/pumpkin, gifting me with several over the years. A most generous gift ! Apparently, similar flavor and texture... also from this Australian seed vendor.

Tastiest veggie from this family i've ever had !! Sweet flavor.

Looks delicious. The last 3 years we have grown the musquee de provence pumpkins which we then roast, puree, and toss in the freezer to use for the entire year.

Awesome, makes soups etc easy.  Haven't tried the musquee but will definitely check them out.
