Hello all. I'm 5scoopscmon.

Hello all, I'm 5scoopscmon but you can also call me Timon;)

I live in an small apartment and with two big and high west facing windows, 1.70m (5.57 foot) height, 1.30m (4.26 foot) width (photo). I've always wanted to grow some kind of fruit in my apartment, as I don't have any outside space, but have never really tried besides planting some seeds from store bought fruit.

I'll be growing some Jalapeños, Birds eye chili, Prik Kee Noo Suan, Jalapenos lemon (because i got it for free with my order), and some Ghost pepper (mango colored, because I loved the looks of it). I have a bunch planted but I'll probably keep one plant per variety as I'm limited in space.

The plan will be the following. First I let all my seeds germinate in my bathroom of which i set the temperature to 24C/74F Degrees. The first plants germinated (photo). I planted them 8 days ago, on friday first of march. Soon I'll move them to my windowsill under the lamp that I bought specifically for this adventure.

I thought of a setup that, I hope, will be good enough to see some fruit but without affecting the atmosphere of my living room (the plants are next to my couch). That's why I bought a shower curtain bar that I stuck between the walls in the window. That way I can always higher, lower, tilt or remove it easily. I attached the LED batten with velcro tape for plants.

I bought the LED lamp to hopefully grow strong seedlings that are not too lanky and later on also have the ability to add extra light when the sun is not out. The led lamp has the following characteristics: 40Watt usage, 320Watts equivalent, 4800 Lumen, 6400k color temperature, 1.2m length and I measured from 10cm right below about 600PPFD/PAR on the Photone app. The lamp cost me 15 euro in total, which I just thought was a steal. I have it setup with a automatic on/off plug and it goes automatically on for 16h from 5am. How do you think this light will affect the growth, if at all? I don't see so many "hybrid" setups that are part of the living space but also aim to improve growth.

I'm happy to join the forum. This introduction has become quite a blog, but yeah, I'm happy to know what you think about it

Best, 5scoopscmon
