Hello from New York

Hi everyone, very nice forum you have here! I live in Queens and grow in containers on my rooftop. This is nice because my plants get full sun all day, but it also gets extremely hot up there. Wrapping the dark pots in ratty old white t-shirts has done the job so far, but we've had a fairly wet, mild summer.

I enjoy cooking too, sometimes with heat, sometimes not. I've been cooking a lot of Indian food recently, which gives a lot of opportunities to play with heat levels. Next year I'll try to grow some more authentic chilli varieties for my Indian dishes.

I've got six seedlings coming along nicely at the moment from seeds that I germinated from a bag of fairly hot, dried Indian chillis. It's just a fun experiment as it's probably too late to get anything off the plants this year.

Anyway, Ive been enjoying the discussions a lot.

:welcome: it's never to late to plant peppers. Bring them inside when it's gets chili ;) out and prune them up a little and you will have a jump start next year.
