Hello from NorCal

Hi Everyone,

I've enjoyed hot peppers for years and I've grown them for years.
I can my own jalapeno's.
I dry my own cayenne's.
And I freeze or pickle my Thai Hots.

but this weekend I did something different.

I harvested the remaining peppers from this years crop of Cayenne, Jalapenos (that had gone red), and banana peppers I had let go red as well. I was looking at them wondering what to do, when I decided to use a juicer to extract the juice. So I got about 3/4 cup of bright red pepper juice, and then took the juice less pulp and dried it in my food dehydrator, I then powderized it in my coffee bean grinder. It came out a bright red powder.

I'm wondering what to do with the juice and I have not tasted it yet to see how hot it is. I'm thinking of mixing some of it with a can of tomato sauce, then dipping chicken wings in it and then broiling them up for a potluck. I love hot wings, but not the traditional "Buffalo Wings", I don't like the vinegary taste of the traditional Buffalo Wing.

has anyone else used a juicer on their hot peppers and if so, any recipes you want to share?

BTW, my favorite use of Thai Hots is my special recipe for Thai Cucumber Salad.

Hello and welcome from Norcal also! Where are you located? I'm in Lodi. I never thought about juicing hot peppers. Sounds crazy (in a good way). If you're close by I might be able to hook you up with a couple fresh super hots to get ya in the game.

Heck, were almost neighbors. I'm in Folsom now, was born and raised in Livermore. My sister and nephew and family get together twice a year typcially at Micke Grove park for a picnic BBQ. Ever buy sausage at the Lockeford Meat & Sausage?

BTW, Go A's

Lockeford sausage is the best! They always set up at the Lodi street fair. And I go to Micke Grove once every couple weeks.

:welcome: from sunny South Florida! :woohoo:
