Hello from Ontario!

Hey there

I'm in Ontario and I'm stuck in a basement. I've been growing this pepper plant since June and nothing has really been happening since it hasn't been given enough warm lovin'. Recently I put a heater beside my plant and and plastic shroud, which I think is killing it. I let it breathe today after keeping it trapped in there for two days. A couple leaves fell, but some new ones are on their way.

I believe I'm growing a Scorpion Butch T but I didn't label my plants so this could be a chocolate habenaro. I have 'experience' with gardening from holding down several rows of tomatoes this summer, and I'm growing a couple Pine bonsai trees right now.

I have some pictures but I don't know how to upload here, can anyone tell me how?

I'm having some issues with my plant and I'd like your advice.

Regards,
PyroCook

Welcome! Put your pics up on an image hosting site and link them here.

What kinda lights are you using?

You could always just overwinter it and have a nice head start for this spring. Check out the overwintering sticky in the growing hot peppers forum.

I think tenting with a heater my be overdoing it, what kinda temps you have with and without it?

Good to see another Canuck on the board!

Also, Pyro, you'd probably get more responses to your question by posting it in the growing hot peppers section of the forum.

Desk lamp + Tube light + CFL from ceiling. Temps are around 35*C in soil. Also my plant wants more soil by the looks of it, the roots are starting to branch out of the drainage holes.

Under those conditions I would focus on just keeping it going until spring time and then bring it outside with a nice head start. From what I've learned here you need a lot of strong light to get a plant to produce peppers. http://thehotpepper.com/topic/25876-article-light-101/

Did you look into that overwintering thread at all? http://thehotpepper.com/topic/25596-the-comprehensive-guide-to-over-wintering/ I think that is your best bet unless you change up the lights to something more powerful.

Again, as you can see from the replies here, it might be best to post this question in the growing hot peppers section rather than here in the welcome section. Here: http://thehotpepper.com/forum/100-growing-hot-peppers/

:welcome:  from sunny South Florida!  :woohoo:
