Hello from PA

Hello all. Dave, from Sinking Spring, PA (SW of Reading).
I got into hot sauces a couple years ago, when I tried Scorned Woman's BBQ sauce, and I was hooked! I have been working on eating cleanly lately, so I decided I wanted to grow my own peppers. I currently just have a 8' x 4' raised bed with just 5 plants currently. Two are supposed to be Trinidad Scorpions, and three WERE supposed to be Naga Jolokia (see my post in the pepper id forum please!). Hope to expand next year.

Looking forward to chatting with everyone!

:welcome: from sunny South Florida!

Thanks everyone. Yes, go big or go home!! And yes I went to Bowers last year, planning again for this year for sure... good time!
Here's a pic of the gardern box. I could have done better, but I had to throw it together rather quickly to get my plants in before going on vacation. It's enclose fully to keep the many birds around my house out of my peppers! I'll get some nicer pics soon.

Hi and welcome from western Massachusetts. Nice setup for keeping the critters out of the garden. One of my neighbors put nylon netting up over her Blueberries, and it seemed like we had to let some squirrel or bird out of it several times a day.

:welcome: nice looking cage. I just lost 4 tops to a groundhog. I might try your version next year. I'm thinking you'll have many more by next year. Some THP member told me it's addicting. I have 30 plants now. :)

Another PA guy. Welcome, from just an hour east down the turnpike.

I was born in Bristol! We lived in Blue Ridge until I was 13 and then move to NC. Thanks for the welcome!

Oh yeah? What factory was that?

Thanks! I'm also a hobbyist woodworker, so I'm not totally satisfied! It's funny you said that. Earlier today I was visualizing where and how I will build more beds for next year!!
And if you are have groundhog problems, I'd suggest using a metal covering instead of the plastic kind I used. I'm mainly worried about birds. If I ever have ghog or rabbit issues, I'll be wraping the lower half with metal.

More pics as promised!

With the front door open obviously. The far left, middle, and far right plants are the assumed Bolivian Rainbows, although I ordered Ghosts! The other two are Trinidad Scorpions, hopefully!

This is the runt. It was the smallest and slowest growing seedling, but it is very healthy!

And the bigger one. Very healthy as well. Both look shiney from just being sprayed with insecticidal soap. Hope to see flowers soon!

Oh, and the small guys in front are just sweet basil.
