Hello from QLD Australia

Hi There,

I have just recently started growing "or at least trying to" some hot pepper plants after being given a seedling from a friend at work.
Since then i have scoured the internet ordering a variety of chili seeds and watching an incredible amount of videos on youtube about both the growing of and varieties of chili. It was in these videos i heard this forum mentioned often from a few of the people i subscribed to so thought i would check it out myself as i feel i will need many a chili growing tip in times to come.

when i get a few plants growing will be open to seed & pod trades things but still a fair way off unfortunately. hope to hear some peoples experiences with chili growing soon.

Cheers, Kenny.

planted 12 moruga seeds and 10 succesfully germinated. since then planted jalapeno, numex twilight, numex big jim, black pearl, tabasco, yellow rocoto and just today put in a bhut jolokia as i had the extra room.

only sowed most of the new ones last week already got 100% success rate with jalapeno, twilights & big jims. 1 of the black pearls have popped up already to. i planted 4 seeds of each of the new ones except for tabasco which i planted 2 and bhut i plants 1 just to see how it went as i didnt wanna waste any more if still not warm enough for them.

Sounds like a nice mix! Yeah, now that it's cold, you should probably hold off to after winter before starting any more or find a nice warm spot for 'em (on top of the fridge? heat mat?) and cover them in plastic (or get a plastic dome/cover) to keep warmth and humidity in.

You should start a grow log and keep us updated. ;)

yeah i picked myself up an electric propagator from bunnings which keeps them nice and warm... havent had any problems with germination as yet, also made myself a light box from a moving box and tin foil. keeps really nice and bright just using a lamp with energy saving bulb as a light source. ill have a bit more of a look around the site soon and have a look at starting a grow log. any tips or anything would be much appreciated as i am really only running of the videos and things ive seen on the internet.
