To people from other countries, please note that the word "awe" is a slang word used by afrikaand teens wich means "hey" or "cool" :)
here its used to express dismay or sometimes disgust but it can also be used as possitive

in exsample
(NEGATIVE)
AWE THE TV WENT OUT AGAIN!!
         or
AWE I STEPPED IN IN DOG CRAP!! (lol)

(POSITIVE)
AWE MAN YOUR THE GREATEST!!
  or
AWE SHES CUTE!!
its not a major slang term used here and is not exactly literal in its usage, so its not a big deal if you guys use it different, no one from what i can see here in the USA would be offended, if thats your concern
OH YEAH AND BY THE WAY  WELCOME DR CAP!!!
thanks your friend Joe

Lol that's super interesting, the way we pronounce it is a bit different, like the word scare, the "e" in awe,is said "eh". So you pronounce it "ah-weh" :P if that helps. The dog crap sounds funny,I could just imagine our teens here stepping in some and says to his friend "awe man I just stepped is dog crap!" And the friend would reply "man that's so cool" LOL!

actually we pronounce it the same as the "AWE"" in "AWESOME"

ITS COOL FOR EVERYONE ELSE BUT THE GUY WHO STEPPED IN DOG CRAP!!
there the ones that get the laugh the guy cleaning it off his shoe or bare foot may or may not be laughing LOL

look i told you i dont act like a 46 year old do i??

Greetings from one South African to another! I'm in Cape Town and have a good range of milds to super-hots. They are growing like weeds here in the summer sun.
