Hello. Last year was my first year growing peppers. I grew two plants of orange habanero. I only got about 15 peppers, but I was very pleased with the flavor and heat.
I am interested in growing some different varieties that are not available locally. However, I wonder if the most common varieties are the best - and that is why they are most common? My orange habaneros - a relatively common pepper - taste better to me than the few scotch bonnet peppers that I have tried so far.
This year I am growing lemon drop, Trinidad perfume, Trinidad pimento, foodarama yellow scotch bonnet, and foodarama red scotch bonnet.
I have an interest in the mild Capsicum chinense peppers. I may start a separate thread asking about them. I have not seen a good comparison of the numerous varieties.
