Help me identify these

Hi guys, I have some pepper plants which I have lost track of due to all my labels getting bleached in the sun. Anyone willing to take guesses as to what the numbers correspond to, that would be awesome.

I think this is my 7 pod plant but I cant be sure. Pics dont look like 7 pods I see online. Fruits are roundish but pimpled and rough. Is this a 7 pod?

The following are Bhuts and or Naga Morich (I had the seeds for both) and maybe my Bonda Ma Jaques?

This plant here was from a seed labeled as "golden nuggets" but there is nothing golden about them so I'm confused...

This one I think is my tabasco but its looking fatter than I'm thinking tabasco should be. They are about 3/4" long right now.

The ones below were grown from grocery store "mixed hot peppers" which all looked scotch bonnet and habanero like (the fruit). The fruit that I'm growing from the resulting seeds looks much larger and a bit different. Any guesses?

Here is a link to my thread with some pics of my Nagas and some of a naga cross.

Hey sv, The first one looks like a 7 pot jonah. Then# 2 looks like a bhut then i see some nagas. The big pod could be anything. Might get a better idea when it ripens. the second last one looks like a red hab or something like that.
Not sure about the last one? It looks like a golden nugget as i think they go dark purple before they go golden

Thanks madhatter :) I didnt even think about reading more about the golden nuggets. I couldnt have imagined them turning dark and then light again. So with the 7 pods, is there a true variety or are they all strains or crosses? I've also got some Trinidad scorpions but they were really easy to pick out :)

I'll wait a bit longer until they ripen, that will probably make it easier to identify (for all of them I assume). I should have waited but I was so anxious to find out which is which.

SV, the 7 pot jonahs is a different strain of the 7 pot. I've grown it for the last 4 years and love growing them. There are so many different strains of the 7 pot these days. But what you have is definatly the jonahs cultivar. In my opinion.
There is a regular 7 pot and the taste is very similar to the jonah's just a different shape.
I'll post a picture of my jonah's so you can see

enjoy! they are hot :mouthonfire:

I believe your supermarket peppers are congo trinidads, but i may be wrong.

compare the flowers/folliage to this: http://www.thechileman.org/results.php?find=congo+trinidad&heat=Any&origin=Any&genus=Any&chile=1

I am growing the same ones as #4 and #5 and like you I also got them from a super market where they were identified as "Habaneros" but they were mostly unripe and moldy, only three were ripe when I collected seed from (the only reason I bought them).

Edit: I think I figured out what they are! they look like Aji Chombo's...

From thechileman.org pepper database...

AJI CHOMBO

Species: Chinense Origin: Panama Heat: Very hot
Add to my growing list

A Scotch Bonnet type from Panama which is used extensively in South America and the Caribbean for making hot sauces. These very pungent peppers are very hard to get hold of in the UK, but are a must for anyone who likes to make their own 'authentic' sauce.

I have a thread up to identify them here --> http://www.thehotpepper.com/topic/17060-pepper-id/

I also have some ones that look like your #15 and #16 that came from the same package of peppers that I got the seeds for #4 and #5 but they are a bit darker green and more "pumpkin" shaped than the lighter green ones. And mine are pretty large also.

I don't know what they are called, so I am very interested in finding this out myself.

They are not congo trinidads, I am growing those and they produce much larger pods, that are medium green when first developing that turn dark green when they have stopped growing.

Here are some Congo Trinidads.

after looking at the pics, I do believe mine are similar to yours. I also got mine in a container (white foam) with a clear wrap over it. Some of mine were also starting to mold so I grabbed a few seeds from what I thought were ripe peppers - yellow and reds. I cant remember if mine were labeled as habaneros or just hot peppers but I picked it up at walmart of all places.

So did or do yours ripen to any specific colour?

I picked up the "Aji Chombo's" (I guess) in foam with plastic wrap package (just like yours) around the end of 2009 at a local "Price Rite". I knew they were different from any "Habaneros" I had bought from them before so I decided to buy them even though they were moldy as hell (you should have seen the cashier's face when she seen me buying a moldy package of peppers).

I didn't get a picture of them and have no idea what they taste like (they were gushy, every package they had) but they ripened to yellow, then orange then red. I am still waiting for mine to ripen this year and I await with excitement :D

At around the 20th of August 2008 (the year before) I was at the same "Price Rite" and saw a container of nice looking Habaneros that were mostly green with a few ripe ones. They were in a plastic container that had a hinged lid with bubble locks that said "Garden Heat Habanero Peppers".

After a very successfull growing year and looking around the web I discovered these to be Congo Trinidads due to their large size, wrinkles, plant apperance and the fact that it just doesn't stop growing and producing peppers even when loaded up. They smell and taste almost exactly like a Bih Jolokia and have a wicked bite.
