Help needed! W/ pic Updated 2/17

Chopped my Reaper plant because it was getting a bit too tall for my liking and the new shoots/branches growing all have this thing going on with the leaves.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

My mother, being the thoughtful person she is, saw this plant and purchased it for me. So I'm not sure if the previous owner over fertilized the plant. Plant was tall with like 4 main stems so I chopped it back some inches and the new branches just started coming coming out like this.

Might be nute burn, could be calcium deficiency. Existing leaves were/are dark green and curling down. As for now I'll check for mites and just give it straight water.

Shock maybe? Nute burn I think would start at the tips. I've had plants look like that before, never paid much attention to it and just let it do it's thing. if you think it might be over nute just flush the hell out of it and then let the soil dry out.

this is why i ask:

sometimes just throwing nutes at it won't help because plants can't absorb it.
