Consider this a learning experience (a painful one
)
don't touch your face, don't rub your eyes, be aware of everything that you touch (even that glass of water) because it may burn again when you pick it up next time, then rub your eye.
it is the oils still on the surface of your skin that you want to remove, what soaps work good on grease or oils ?
Try GOOP hand cleaner ?
or maybe alternating between coconut oil, then Dawn dish soap.
Alcohol will wash it off too but i find it to be more effective at spreading it around as well
maybe use a bunch of paper towels, wiping off your hands with paper towels and alcohol then throw away
(I am remembering a time that i cut up some peppers then washed my hands and dried them off and left the towel on the counter thinking nothing of it. Well later my wife used that towel to dry her hands. It wasn't until she went to take her contacts out that she even realized her hands had been contaminated with capsaicin oils! I cannot begin to relate how bad i felt
)
the best lesson to be learned here is to wear gloves or suffer the consequences
when it comes to gloves:
Nitrile not latex. The oils will bleed right through latex if your processing lots of peppers
Remember this lesson, and be prepared with some Nitrile gloves next time. Not just for your safety, but others as well.
now go to the bathroom and report back
good luck
