Herb Seed Sources

I've never grown my own herbs, beyond dill, anyway. This year I'm going to give her a go, would mind a recommendation on seed sources. The wife tried some Park Seed offerings around 15 years ago, but they didn't do well.
 
Rosemary is a top want, along with the usual suspects. There are just so dammed many seed vendors out there now...
 
Anyone got a favorite store?

I see that the Rosemary has an extremely low germination rate. I can see why they include so many.
 
The seeds'n'such site says perennial, the Canadian site says it's annual, due no doubt to their winters. Curious. I should do a search on temp tolerance for these and others. Where I am gets a lot colder than either coast of the Great Beer North.
 
I guess a little research on bug resistance would be in order as well, I can't seem to keep the aphids out if I overwinter...Thanks fellas...

This rosemary was store bought in a plastic package, sat in the fridge for about a week, then simply placed in a glass of tap water. It had roots in less than a week.

So I could buy a pack of fresh at the local markup and root the damn things myself...Man that just sounds right. I could root half and use the other for my Macaroni's rosemary bread...Now THAT  is what I call instant gratification!!

I have access to a pretty large rosemary plant.  It may not be the best time to take cuttings but if you want some cuttings to clone let me know.

JLHudson is my first choice for hard-to-find seeds. They are an interesting organization. Check out the book listing.

Pretty good growing here, if I get an early enough start for the longer season varieties. I tolerate a limited amount of polk, mainly for the beauty of the plant. Mammals are my biggest problem.

Ditto on Strictly Medicinal Seeds... I've also had great results with their Chiljuacle Negro Chile seeds.

I'm terrible at cloning. Though I got a half dozen of those cuttings to actually start roots, these two took to dirt...

I. Am. ECSTATIC! Thanks Sobelri, and remember, there are consequences to kindness...

My dad used to have a hedge of Alpine Currant, whenever he wanted a new bush he'd cut a branch and just stick it in the ground. Within a couple weeks they'd take off for him. He told the same can be done with certain willows too...I wish I'd inherited his touch.

Thanks again, Sobelri and all you guys! I now have a damned rosemary bush in the making!

I was also ecstatic when I did four cuttings and they all took and now have large Rosemary in pots. Tired buying every year when they dont survive the winter.
