Hi everyone, need help with a pepper name

Hi all. I'm new to the forum and I need everyone's help. FOr YEARS.... My grandmother has made a great hot sauce using a small thin yellow/green pepper she calls a "daddle" pepper, or at least that's what it sounds like! LOL Anyone ever heard of this kind of pepper, or is it bascially a "hometown re-naming" of some other pepper? Thanks for any help!

I do believe that's it! Thanks for unraveling the mystery for me. She makes this sauce thats completely addictive. I have yet to get her to part with the recipe....Though I'm workin on her!

Thanks again!

Just so you'd be sure, here's a couple of better pictures:

Note that the little ones are the normal kind in the second picture.
You could also look for Datil sauces recipes online.

They your photos Omri? Healthy looking plant. They are a nice pepper to cook with too plenty hot enough but with a nice flavour. theres a guy in England who candies them and uses it in chocolate.

Do you really think I'll call my peppers 'Super Datil Pepper'?
That's just how the seed companies labeled them.
My Datil are still growing, no pods yet. :)

They don't offer much information on what the Super Datil Dew pepper is. Is it a hybrid or a stabilized improved variety?

If they say it tastes like a Datil, I'd like to get it to find out for sure. Just taste the seeds.

You can tell what a pepper is by tasting the seeds?

I am quite deeply impressed.

I've tasted a lot of seeds in my life, and so far I couldn't tell what kind of pepper they are by just tasting.
Although the ones with high fat do have an almond kind of taste.
