I am a complete newbie to growing anything. I'm not a newbie to spicy food though. 
 
I decided to take a dive and bought an assortment of chili seeds, Ghost, Scorpion, Primo, Jonah, and Choc Habs. I germed them in rockwool and they all have between 2-4 sets of real leaves. I joined up so I could be prepared to get some help when I inevitably mess up.

Welcome from CT. Just do what feels right, I got a massive crop in my first year by doing that. Hasn't worked twice though.
