Hi from Munich, Germany

Hi,

I only started growing chiles this year. I have been growing all kinds of vegetables, fruits and other plants before. I bought a bunch of plants earlier this year because I started late. I also started a few plants from seed but those are running late - a few pods, mostly flowers.

My current favorite is the Habanero Orange. I just like the taste of that one and it isn't too hot. Most of the other first year plants are probably not going to make it into next year.

Annuum:
- Jamaican Hot Yellow
- Fireball
- Vulcano
- unnamed Bell Pepper I grew from a pod I bought in a store
- Pimientos de Padron
- an unnamed Jalapeno

Chinense:
- Habanero Orange
- different kinds of Habanero Red
- Red Savina
- Carolina Reaper (which most probably is not the real thing)
- Habanero Brown
- NuMex Suave Red
- Bhut Jolokia

Frutescens:
- Bird's Eye Piri Piri

Pubescens:
- 2 kinds, don't know their names, no pods yet

Baccatum:
- Bishop's Crown

Next year I intend to start earlier in the year and grow everything from seeds. Had some really bad experiences with pests on plants I bought elsewhere. Aphids were horrible this year.

Greetings,

Werner

Welcome! The first batch of Hatch Chile's started hitting the stores this week, and the roasters are starting to make the air smell good. Cheers!

I wish I could be there again for the Festival. Next time I am close I need to check out the NMSU Chile Pepper Institute.
