Now I'm wondering if I've ever HAD a decent bagel. I like the ones I've tried.

Can you define REAL? I'm very interested!

With the really good ones the exterior is glossy, the interior is soft and dense, and overall it's chewy. Many places bake them like rolls and skip the step of boiling. They must be eaten within hours of baking. They are discarded in the afternoon.

ha i like how this turned into a "real bagel" talk. I also learned after going to AZ to visit family that Ive never had a real burrito ! I always ask them to overnight a burrito... they always tell me im gross...
