Home depot hab

My first hot pepper I grew was an Orange Habanero I purchase from Home Depot. It had orange fruit already growing, so had to be right.
I grew dozens of these and put them in the freezer, waiting until I had enough for my hot sauce. After signing up this forum and reading tons of post on mislabeled peppers, I decided to try one.
I'm posting this as a lesson, not really needing a pepper I.D.
The pepper turned out to be a mini bell pepper. From this day forth I swear I will try the first pepper that ripens hehe

I have one orange habanero variety that is elongated and barrel-shaped, that was labelled as a Ghost pepper.  I have also seem "Carolina Reapers" labelled under Vigorgro (HD brand), that come out like a red habanero.  I think that is a trademark case.  The rest of the red bhuts i bought are just those.  Beautiful plants.  Trademarks may lead these vendors to cross it with something else to avoid legal issues.  Just my theory. The orange peppers on the right are the questionable ones.  Just below them are some Red Bhuts.

CORRECTION:  Orange peppers on the LEFT.
Everything on the right is red habs or the faux "Carolina Reaper" (more red habs, IMHO).

well sweet peppers will still be fine in sauce just needs a little help, grab a sfrb from a vendor or forum ads if you don't have any others growing.

I actually have lot of different peppers growing, but most not planted yet as I started growing peppers very late. But it's Florida, hoping for the best.

I also contacted Bonnie plants. They were willing to give me a refund so long as I provided a picture of the pepper tag, plant, and the receipt. Of course I don't have the receipt or the tag anymore, but I never contacted them looking for a refund. Just wanted to inform them they were labeling wrong.
