plants are lush and fertile. I like how the older plants are exploding w/ growth too. I say that because I have a Dorset that produced nothing until I pruned it after almost a year & now it looks like it might produce many pods.

 
I have a few that are falling behind. The Congo SR's have very few pods. All of my plants are behind this year I had a mishap with one of my lighting timers so they were under 24 hour light for a few weeks. They ended up recovering a lot better than I though.
 
Still no sign of color yet(boo) A lot of healthy large pods though so hopefully soon.

I was waiting to see some color but still no real signs of color, brains show a little yellow but not much to get excited about. I was hoping the cooler weather weve been havnig would kick it in to gear but guess not, so small pod update.

I'm interested in the Yellow Brains. I had my first beginnings of a pod get knocked-off in a rain storm ystrdy Had two more flowers open-up today though. I'd like to get at least one pod off of my plant. I was debating using some bloom accelerators and calmag like you but my store-bought, bagged dirt says it has food in it already??? Any suggestions for me? You have very good yields on your plants & I'm usually lucky to get just five or so decent sized pods.

My soil mix has a 5-5-5 All Purpose + Epsom Salt mixed into it, Ive fertilized a lower dose every week on spot(unless its been rainy) First 2 months used Grow then the bloom. Always use the CalMag. Now my soil mix is completely free draining, its a custom variation of the 5-1-1(pine + peat + perlite) I dont recommend without irrigation though or if you worry alot when you see the plants drooping.
 
Are you seeing a lot of blossom drop? or are they just no blooming at all?

In my two seasons I've never had more than a handful of full grown peppers per plant & I use good nutrient rich dirt. Your plants are real green and have a lot of pods/node just like in the pics of the Bahamian goats and brains. That is uncommon for me. I am limited to growing in pots without irrigation like you say though.

Yup almost all of my plants have tons of pods, there are a few without pods but they all have multiple nodes/blooms, The only plant that looks bad is my 3 year old bhut but I've almost killed it every year it still has a fair amount of pods on it though
 
how much water does your soil hold? does it stay pretty moist? are the leaves curling or "bubbling"? When are you noticing the blossom drops? before they open or after they pollinate?

soil is prolly a little on the dry side because I used to be a serial over-waterer. Blossoms open then drop. I've gotten better at watering but I prolly under water (no pun intended ) a bit now.

I wait till my plants hate me before I water them, try adding a fert like a 5-10-10 and a floral spray of epson salt
 
 
Some of the inner pods are showing color finally, very very little though. Its been extremely cool the last few weeks so hopefully I see more changing soon.

very nice. At first, I thought dehydrator. I'd like to see what some pods look like after you smoke a batch.

Anyway, I got a pint of that plant bloom enhancer you posted earlier. Reason is, some of my big plants have had very few pods so I want to increase the pod yield. The peppers are just for my personal consumption & seed trading but I want to get more than a handful of pods of of a 5 ft plant in the future. Plus, I have a Dorset thats dropped 100 flowers & never produced a single pod (gave it its first feeding yesterday) Thanks for the info
