Is anyone growing this pepper from the seed train. Different from a Hot Finger I grew years ago from Peppermania. This is larger and a little bumpy. Looks really nice anyway, big for a cayenne I think.
Here are some ripe Amish Hot Finger. I tasted one of the smaller ones, it has a sweet mild heat. Very similar heat to Aji Guyana. Good to eat fresh. I’ll dry a few to see how the powder taste. So far this one is a keeper for me.
Well, I tasted the other ones, and the mild heat is mainly on the veins. If you avoid this area, there is no heat. It is actually milder than Aji Guyana. It's like a sweet annum pepper with very mild heat.
I grew a couple of these out this year.. Also from the train. Maybe they have just had too much water this year, but these have zero heat. They are everything I had hoped Jimmy Nardello would be though.. Crisp, firm, and really sweet; Even the pith is sweet.
