Hot Wing "finger food" soup, or spicy chicken soup ideas?

My idea evolved from cooking skin on bone in chicken breasts in hot sauce and butter, and serving over rice. Kinda like Buffalo checken breasts. Then I got the idea to chop up the breasts, cooked in the hot sauce and butter, and make a chicken and rice soup. Hey, it's good, and real spicy. I have tried to think of ways to tone it down a bit, for some of my not so spicy faamilly, but not sure how.

Even though the Defcon Creator does not recamend bringing his sauce to a boil, I think it would work somehow, and you might not even need the butter.

TheHotPepper had an idea for sweet and sour hot wing soup, using crisped up real wings. The soup that's also a finger food. Sounds yummy to me!

Any of yall have some ideas for spicy chicken soup?

I remember that idea :) I have to try it, lol.
Ahh, you have been revealed mr. admin! :) Using us as your recipe idea test dummies you are.
LOL, not really. He was asking for ideas, it wasn't a recipe I posted in here.

I made some soup a couple days ago and just dropped a whole dried pepper pod into the soup rather than flakes or sauces. the heat could be controlled by when you pull it out of the soup

I generally dislike chicken on the bone, unless it's been cooked such that the skin is crispy (not something we're overly good at over here, it strikes me) so would be big in favour of a soup version. And, of course, wings are better than legs on the bone.

Why? I dunno.... perhaps something psychological about one too many cold, greasy drumsticks on picnics as a kid.

Yep, it was your idea TheHotPepper, and a great one I might add! I just learned that that origional buffalo wing place serves a chicken soup. It did not get a great review at roadfood. No real bone in wings in their soup. Folks liked your real wings soup idea better. Sweet and sour, or just regular hot wings, both sound good to me.

And yep, I am just looking for ideas. The "sweet and sour" hot wing soup has no recipe yet, just a good sounding idea. I figured you pepper heads would have some HOT chicken soup thoughts.

Cap't, "recipe idea test dummies", lolol, I love that phraise! When I post my next recipe is it OK if I use it?

Shooty, where is "over here"? Easy to get good at crisping up wings. There are several methiods though. The Lilaputions would have a war over what way is best. Kinda like the beans or no beans chili deal.

Carl, neat idea for the pepper in soup! What kind of pepper did you use?

PapaJoe, got your message. Defcon soup is a new one on me. Sounds like a pretty good idea. It should emulsify (sp?) pretty well considering the ingredients. I tell everyone not to boil it, as for some reason it gets a little salty. I would think the #1 (hot) would be the best as a little goes a long way. I would be curious if anyone has tried this yet. If so, tell me what you did, and I'll add it to the "known uses" area of our website.

Guajillo. they're big and not that hot. I was supprised at how much heat I actually got out of it. The soup was a mexican albondigas soup but in instead of meatball I used bratwurst...so that sort of defeats the name. I guess we'll have to call it sopa salchicha
