How long do they last?

I always stow a number of habs and jalapenos in the freezer for use in chilli later in the fall or winter. I agree, they do go mushy once thawed, but they're not used for texture in most of my dishes anyways. Nothing warms the belly during Grey Cup than a hot bowl of hab chilli...

Yes Potawie, the peppers in the grocery store are really sad. Looks as though they were sat on during they're entire trip to the Great White North.
 
So far I have divided everything up in about thirds. I have froze some, pickled about nine jars and am ready to do more, and we have ate several as poppers off the grill.

Yeah I noticed last year someone gave me some japs and I froze them, they do thaw out mushy, but are great in chili and mexican.
