How small is TOO small when growing peppers.

I am growing some Fatalli, and Datil in pots this year. If I want them to produce to their full potential, what size pots can I get away with?

Thanks

Kat

based on my experience I would not go any smaller than 5gal at least for the fatali, my fatali was route bound in a five gallon so this year I planted my fatali in a 15 gallon we will see what happens :)
also I think pepper guru was growing his 5 year mother fatalii in a 20 gal grow bag if Im not mistaken and that bay filled up every bit of it?

5gallon or bigger. I have a neighbor that grew and habanero to fruit in a 1 gallon, but you said to full potential which that did not achieve.

Im going from solos to 3 gallon buckets because my father gave them to me for free :D. When the plants need it, maybe ten gallon grow bags. Maybe.
