Howdy,
I'm from Benicia, CA which is in the North/East San Francisco Bay.
I confess I like the hot stuff and have grown my own peppers for a long time. I really love making my own hot sauces, and salsas, as well as smoking and grinding up my peppers. Co-workers call my smoked ground hot peppers Magic Dust.
I currently have maybe 3 dozen plants growing, with a mix of habanero, mustard habanero, some mystery habaneros, what I think is a ghost pepper, many Chile de Arbol, Jalapeño, Fresno, etc.
Last year I over wintered a bunch of habaneros, and some did ok, and some, not so much. Hope to overwinter a good portion of my plants again this year. Keeping most in 5 gallon buckets seems to help.
Excited to read all about hot peppers!
Steveoh
oh, can anyone identify this pepper? I planted some seeds, and they got all mixed up, and I don't know what is what on a few plants. I think it's a Ghost, my first one...
