HP48 Death n HP50 Death II pepper - News?

I remember the death pepper thing from before the Carolina Reaper was released.  From what I understood, it was not stable at that time.  Haven't heard a thing about it since.  Now in the last week, I have had four emails from presumably different people asking if I will be selling the seeds.

Has something changed or is the thing still in its holding pattern / development?
 
my understanding is if ed is making $$$$ selling the reaper, what's the point of releasing a new pepper he has to redo all the marketing, production, etc. Only when someone dethrones the reaper would it be smart to release a new strain that beats the contender, yes?
 
Unless of course the contender isn't going to take them down ... I heard the death had an average of around 1.8 million with an estimated top of 2.5 and low of 1.5 but that may not be Bhutlah killing quality ..

I like the way PL released the trio .. Take 3x Pheno's and raise them to a trio of different peppers and sell them as such .. Now the fourth gets released it makes you want the set.. Devils brain Devils horns Devils Heart

That's what I've read. He said in an interview I read he has something nearing 3mil but no point to release it unless somebody dethrones the reaper.

Again we see I have no business sense.  That does make sense for why we havent heard much more bout it.  Still kind of wondering why out of the blue people are asking for it.

The article could explain it, especially if it is not the only interview.  On a side note, is there anything Mr. Currie says to the press that does not get mutilated by the press?  It will take HOURS of work?  Thinking things like this take a bit more than hours.

BTW: They are discussing HB56.
