I got a pm from a inactive member a few weeks ago, how is that possible?

Aahh ok that makes sense, by the time I saw the message they became inactive.
 
Whats the difference between banned and inactive?

Inactive can mean they asked to close acct. as they do not visit here anymore and want the login disabled for security, etc. Or other various reasons but most likely.
