indoor Indoor Pepper Pods Vs Outdoor

Hi,
I have a question. I was watching a video and he said indoor pepper pods don't grow as big as if the plant is outside and are misshaped. Is this true? Because my MOA Scotch Bonnets pods are small and misshapen. I was thinking the seeds may have crossed with something else, but if this is true it would explain why my pods look different from pods I've seen online.

That has not been my experience. I grow both outdoors in pots and indoors under lights hydroponically. My indoor grown pods seem pretty much the same to me as the ones grown outdoors. They are certainly not small or misshapen. I think that as long as you are providing the plant with everything it needs, good lighting (this is very important indoors of course) and enough nutes, the pods should develop normally. Pictures of the pods would help, but if your pods look strange I would say there is a fair chance that the seeds could have been crossed. Also, sometimes the very first pods that a plant throws will look a bit off, but then later pods are fine. I don't know why that is, but I have had that happen with both outdoor and indoor plants, so growing indoors is not the cause.

That's true. Along with temperature, humidity, nutrients, oxygenation in the root zone, proper watering, air circulation, pest management, etc...

hey solid7!  long time no see.  you disappear for a very long time
 
I have been growing them in a south facing window and been giving them fish fertilizer every couple weeks. Could the size of the plant also affect the size and shape of the pods? Because the plants are still small.

Also, I posted on the Pepper Lovers Community and one person said MOA Scotch Bonnets are unstable. Is this true?

They are called "MOA" because they are in the seed catalog of the Jamaican Ministry of Agriculture.

I very highly doubt that they are unstable.  And since I've been growing them out for multiple seasons, every single one has come true. 
 
I'm not going to generalize about MOA Bonnets too much, because there are probably a lot of bootleg seeds or there, plus I know there's a whole lot of open pollinated seeds out there coming from some sources... I don't know what you're getting off you order right from the Min of Again, but I have heard that if you order from CARDI (an MOA authorized vendor), they might just decide not to ship your order... But that's a whole different can of turds..

All that I'm gonna say is, I've noticed some ppl on FB and the forums who are growing MOAs, and getting some very off-pheno pods. But, there's no telling what are they were working with. I've gotten some perfect cup'n'saucer MOAs in boxes from THP members, so maybe you need to consider the source?

The idea behind the MOA Bonnets was, they were trying to set a true and proper Jamaican Scotch Bonnet. Stability was what the project was supposed to be all about...
