Intersting study

I found this interesting study of crossing chinense and annum in Brazil.

CONCLUSIONS The interspecific cross between Capsicum annuum and Capsicum chinense is possible, and can
obtain viable seeds and fruits, although results vary according to the genotype used.

Very interesting indeed. Seems like the previous research done in 2005 didn't yield the same results. However it seems like the hybrid seeds are still limited to a few specific test in germination rate and vigor. Although all hybrids produced fruit. I think the work around would be to just "clone" the hybrid plant instead of trying to produce new plants from seeds. I think that's how they mass produce all the HAAS avocados here in California.
