First off, I'm a first time grower and curious if something is wrong with my Bhut. It's turning purple on top of pepper.
 
On top of a pepper or on top of the plant? Either way its probably just sunburn. Nothing to worry about and very common with bhuts.
 
Are the tops of the pods turning purple? If so, are said pods exposed to direct sunlight? That would cause brown or purple coloring. There is no need to reduce the amount of sunlight they get. It won't effect the pods in any adverse way.
 
sounds like sunburn to me also, they need a little more shade during the day. My Birdseyes were getting burnt to a crisp in the sun last season. Cheers
