Isolating flowers using glue

I never heard about this technique. The attached link is easy to follow with great photos. I'm going to give it a go.

I've done this the last couple of years (heard about it on here from Browning) and it works excellently as long as it doesn't rain. If you grow in containers (which I don't) it would be great because you can move them out of the rain. But growing in a garden, you have to keep an eye on the next few days forecast. Thank you for providing this link!

Thanks for the additional info, Bhuter. I was just thinking about Elmer's and water!
 
Primarily, I plan on trying on my potted up plants.
I thought a flower bud had to open in order to be pollinated?
