Jalapeno, Serrano, Hot Portgual sauce - 1st attempt

Made my first hot sauce today with some peppers from the garden and it SURPRISINGLY turned out very well.

1 red Jalapeno
3 red Serranos
2 red Hot Portugals
3 cloves garlic
1 small white onion
1/2 c water
1/2 c cider vinegar
1 Tbsp white suar

Sauteed it all for 15 minutes and ran it through the blender. The sauce is a little on the watery side... probably too much liquid for what I made. But the flavor is sweet and spicy with just a great mild heat.

I think its a great start. Couldn't have done it without the help here.

Sounds like your off to a good start making and enjoying your own sauces. If you want your sauce to be thicker just let it simmer till it's where you want it to be. I always try to get mine about medium thick. Thick enough to stay where you put it but thin enough to get it out of the bottle.

Cheers,
RM

You may benefit from a little salt. I find the sweet sauces lack a little something without a pinch of salt. I like sea salt but use pickling salt if you plan to store it.
