pod Jalapenos?

So i accidentally lost my seed packs and got a couple seed cups mixed up, and im trying to identify this pepper. I have a couple jalapeno plants and all the peppers have a pointed ends unlike this one so im not sure if it is an actual jalapeno. I did use some seeds that i harvested from previous peppers over the years so maybe some sort of hybrid/crossbreed?

Grow some seeds from the suspected hybrid. If you get a lot of diversity then you likely have a cross. If however you get very little diversity... you could still have a cross. A hybrid between two different jalapeno for instance will not have as much variability as a hybrid between a poblano and an jalapeno. Make your crosses by hand and you will be a little more sure of what you have.

Why not eat one to see if it tastes like the other Jalapenos you are growing? 🤔
So im going to try and get my GF to taste one in the next week to confirm since I have a lousy palate, but from what I tasted it was like Bell Pepper but spicy like a medium/hot jalapeno. It doesnt cut anything like a Jalapeno.

Thanks for the info! Im definitely going to try and grow some more plants from the seeds and see what happens. Is there a certain amount of seeds i should grow? Also I tried the pepper and im going to get the gf to try it since my palete is crap but the fully ripe/red pepper tasted like a bell pepper but had the spice level of a medium/hot jalapeno. It also felt like it sliced differently than a jalapeno.

That little cleft at the bottom could be explained by a bell… or any of the species which have “chambers” like the bell. If it tastes good grow more!
