JayT don't let zdecker down and not let this TD count.

Doesn't zdecker win the crown by default in case of a no-show?....not sure of the rules here, and getting very tired...lol

No. But Jay would be banned from TDs for 6 months :tear:

zdecker is stuck with grocery bills and no contender that's why.

Hope he shows!

Well whatever happens zdecker your meal looked awesome. That flank steak looked cooked to perfection and the creamy taters, I could've chowed down a boat load of those.....sorry if you don't get your crown, you deserved it.....but still a few minutes left.

Cheers to you!

Jay T's Smoke And Fire Comfort Food

Ok, first let me appologize to my competitor and everyone else for the delay. I was at a cookout/throwdown event yesterday with about 70 people. I did however get home at ten with plenty of time to post my pics. Problem was that I had an internet connectivity problem that lasted through the night until this morning. Here is my entry.

Got a new smoker for the event.

Made some homemade sausage, two kinds, venison and pork (not part of the entry).

I gave a lot of thought to this enrty and I went against the grain as Wheebz said by going with a backyard bbq entry. It is not the typical one pot soupy or Thanksgiving dinner comfort food, but I think comfort food is designed as food that makes people feel good. What makes me feel good is some good grilled or smoked chicken, beans, and poppers! I know about 70 other people that would agree with me. Here's the prep and cooking pics:

That's a couple of moose steaks I threw in for good measure (also not part of entry).

JayT's Smoke and Fire Comfort Food

Ingredients:

Beans: black, cannelini, roman, small red, pinto, pink beans, onion, jalapeno, cider vinegar, molasses, bbq sauce, AJ's naga puree

Poppers: 30 jalapenos, bacon, pepper jack cheese, Buddy's smoked chocolate congo puree.

Chicken: thighs and legs marinated in cider vinegar, water, canola oil, Lawry's seasoned salt, Aw Sh*t pepper blend

The chicken was smoked over charcoal and mesquite then slathered in hot bbq sauce and grilled over charcoal to crisp up.

The poppers and beans were grilled over charcoal with some more mesquite (a converted gas grill to charcoal)
