Jedisushi06 2019 grow. The pepper strikes back.

Getting seeds ready to soak this week today and attempting to bring back some old school 7 pot strains from the late Silver Surfer on here and planting my own crosses and growing out seeds from the late Jack Chapman AKA Jack Superhot.  Hoping to have a better season then last year.  The heat was brutal and my plants struggled to produce.  Debating on growing some wild strains too.  I also need to plant AJi types by march.

Yeah i heard i should plant those lol.
Essentially what we've always referred to as "Caribbean" ya know?

I brought back two phenotypes.

The first pheno type in the photo with passports, we found that at a local market at the base of Arenal Volcano in a little town called La Fortuna, Costa Rica. It was labelled "Aji Panamena"

The second shown it the top two photos, we found near the close of our trip. We were staying at a families home in San Miguel de Santo Domingo near San Jose, Costa Rica. They had a personal garden around the home's perimeter and these along with more Amarillio were growing. They allowed me to crawl around, taking photos harvesting some for seed. It was very similar to the "Panamena" so I labeled it "Panameno" to distinguish between the two gardens. The Panameno is what I sent Jimmy Johnson (with some other stuff from Sri Lanka too)

At dinner I assume the owner/husband found out I was into peppers and brought over to our table what they call "Campana" meaning Bell.  Essentially Bishops Crown... baccatum. It was a great trip, despite moving very slowly as Jen, my wife had just broken her ankle and was in a cast. We met some great people and talked with many gardeners, growers and restaurant owners.

Their favorite thing to do with the Panameno/a is to make table top "Chilero" which is vinegar, peppers, carrots and onions. Its to die for.

Pictured here as we finished off their batch on the table one morning. Ha
