this is what I'm planning on transferring into with an added mix of perlite, earthworm casting, azomite, and a few bricks of coco coir.  from what I heard and read, vermifire is the sh!t...  like way better than ocean forest?

Ah yes, I mix this with coco coir and perlite and it seems to work well. But every once in a while I get a bag with a very interesting nasty smell. Not sure what that is but it's suppose to be OMRI approved, and my plants seem to like it.

The stuff stinks, huh...  i agree...  I think it's because they pack it in wet...  I didn't check the ingredients, but it smells like some kind of manure, also.

some photos of my square foot attempt...  planted in late March, IIRC.

Very nice Jojo!

Gonna be monsters soon!
Thanks Devv!

i just hope they don't get too BIG!  lol    i already know I'm gonna havta spread those buckets soon...  finding a nice spot with a lot of sunlight is difficult in a small backyard.   :banghead:

Well you can do a rotation if needed. I'm sure once summer kicks it will help the ones in the full sun.

Yeah, I'm thinking of that too...  But, I am also pretty lazy...  Maybe a few peppers would put me into high gear.

Nice! I did this over the weekend as well too!
What did you use in yours?

 heh, let's see here.

5 cups Ancient Forest hummus
1 cup homemade compost
1/2 cup of ewc
3 handfuls of grass clippings
3 spoonfuls of molasses
2 spoonfuls of mykos
1 roly poly bug

how's your  lactobacillus culture experiment going?

lol interesting mix man! :-)

my LB is currently sitting in my fridge. I have not used it for any thing except helping my bokashi bucket a long. once my comfrey plantings are large enough to harvest, I'll try a ferment.

At the moment, I am battling aphids.

I'm battling those aphids too...  everyday I go out side I see em on my plants and I just squish them...  there's gotta be a better way...  I'm hoping this compost tea helps.
