juantio grows 2018

This year i'm going for a few new varieties to improve my seed stock and so i can update pepperdatabase.org with pictures / reviews.
 
I did not like using plugs last year so i'm going back to loose medium in containers. 
 
I might try to sell at farmers market or partner with a local nursery. Also online @ juanitospeppers.com
 
Germination
bulk starting in some bowls / 3.5 in pots
transplant @ ~ 24 days
 
Indoor
medium: coco + perlite
nutrient: dyna gro foliage pro
containers: 606 insert or 3.5 in deep pots
light: led strip 3014, meanwell lrs-350-12
irrigation: flood table
 
Outdoor
medium: coco
nutrient: tbd, maybe jacks hydro 2 part
containers: tbd, bags or slabs, maybe a few of both
irrigation: drip system + injectors

CARDI screwed me over this year. i ordered back in october 2017 and still haven't received seeds.
so who knows if they will ever get here.
 
going for a few superhots, but more actual usable tasty peppers. 
May not grow them all, but i started them all lol

Yeah I thought about using a laptop style driver or something out of a computer, also probably shouldn't burn my house down either, that's why I figured I would ask you lol. I really appreciate the info. And I can't wait to see your grow as it progresses!

I also have used a lot of recycled coco coir from previous seasons, that i will let totally freeze during the winter time before use and it works just great.
 
I got some led strips today, I'm building a fixture to mount them to so it will be basically like a normal fixture that I can raise up and down. I will post some pics in my glog tomorrow. I couldn't find the 3014 strips on Amazon prime so I just went with 5050 for now.
 
What do those numbers mean anyway? I tried to do some research but that LED stuff can be pretty confusing.
 
Edit: Oh by the way juanitos, do you have the 'white' or 'warm white' strips?

numbers are just the size of the chip. 5050 = 5mm x 5 mm. 3014 = 3mm x 1.4mm
 
i tried both colors, they both work fine. 
i like "white" because its better for taking pictures with good colors.

Haha, the answer is always so simple. Thanks, man! I think I'll order some soon. How long did delivery take? I've heard some stories about AliExpress..
 
Edit: Couldn't keep myself from ordering them already. I ordered 2 strips of 5 meters, hope it's enough.
