If i am not mistaken you can trim some of the leaves back in the clones to help it focus on the root development.I am curious how long it will take you for you to start getting roots.

Looking good, Can you grow year round where your at there in Cali? I never looked at the map to see where you were in at compared to LA

What's your favorite way to prepare Bitter Melon? I haven't tried it very many ways yet, but cooked up with scrambled eggs, onion, garlic and tomatoes is my favorite so far. Stir-fried with onion, hot pepper powder of your choice and an Indian spice mixture called Panchphoran is pretty good too. Maybe PinoyPride could send you a recipe for Philippine Pinkabet (vegetable stew) that has Bitter Melon in it too.

Good luck with the OW chiles... That's the next step in my escalating obsession... next year. Cheers

Nice to your still getting a few pods this late, and the areogarden plants are giving off some bush. Nice!
ya... the caribbean red was a late bloomer due it hiding under a bhut so it grew slow.. now its going..
as for the aero's man.. adding them hydro nutes kicks arse... wish i could learn how to do DWC..look at the stalk compared to soil (roots organic)

Trimmed the clones a little more.. i live in socal 20 mins east of pasadena... we can grow all year in my area...

like i did last year... i had these guys out early... it was easier to get them hardened when it was time...actually.. didnt have to.. already started early... bad thing is.. i risk disease and pest.. but im hopeful that theres not many evil ones during the winter... they get 6hrs of sun already.. sometimes all day...

Nice looking hoophouse there DeNNiZ! What are your overnight temperatures about now? My chiles did pretty well last year when I planted them outside in Mid-April with overnight lows dipping down around freezing or a little lower. I was able to keep them going by putting a black plastic thermal mulch on the ground first, and then putting the hoophouse up over that. I punched holes in the black plastic and planted in the ground. The way it works is, the sun hits the black plastic and warms the soil. At night when the sun goes down, the soil radiates heat and the clear plastic traps it and holds it in. If you're interested in getting some I can pm you the URL, otherwise, I wouldn't be surprised if doing the same thing with black plastic garbage bags did about as well.

Ouch, that really sucks! Definitely a case of "Bad dog... no biscuit!" I hope you can keep the "accidental" clones going.

[sup]Dogs cats and little children are a destructive force of nature :( Last season I had my plant pots standing in rows 3 deep with shade cloth on top more then once found our cat sunbathing on top of them[/sup]

that poor puppy just wanted to help. could be worse i had several cows the other day under the shade house stepping on everything. stupid cows!

It sucks that your dog got in their and started pruning for you, but at least it is still really early and everything will grow back. I had a devil of a time last year with my cat continually eating the leaves off of my seedlings, so I can relate.
