I don't know from experience, but I don't think it's the easiest of plants to grow. It takes a long time to mature also.
What's the climate like where you are?
 
Yeah, I was interested in growing some but the 6 year wait until harvest didn't make me wet. Now that I think about, if I did plant some out, it would be harvest time.
